- "Remington, the President thinks something is going on that my people can't handle. I don't agree, but that doesn't matter. As you know, our economy and several other nation's economies are rocky right now. It wouldn't take much to seriously upset things. We hear rumors of some sort of economic attack. I don't know what form it could take - perhaps something to disrupt trade or raise oil prices. If you can figure this out, you'll prove me wrong about you. I hate to say this, but I'd be happy to eat crow."
In a Financial Strike scenario, several major nations are experiencing economic instability. The Mastermind and his Organization decide that this is a good time to destabilize global markets. They achieve this by counterfeiting Medium Denomination Currency and putting it into the marketplace, creating a sudden inflation, thus crashing the economy.
To perform a Financial Strike, the enemy will work to free a notorious Forger from prison. Once freed, this Forger will be employed to create the counterfeit money.
The following plots may occur as part of a Financial Strike Mission Set:
- Prison Break: The enemy will stage a daring rescue of Willie the Pen, a master Engraver who should be able to create the perfect counterfeit money.
- Theft of Official Currency Plates from a Treasury Building enables the enemy to conduct top-quality counterfeiting.
- Ultimate Plot: The enemy puts together a manufacturing facility to produce vast quantities of Medium Denomination Currency which they use to flood the market, causing massive inflation and a subsequent economic crash.
Due to a bug in the Ultimate Plot script, you will always end that mission with 100 points, and will be considered to have prevented the crime from taking place - even if you did absolutely nothing.
However, as a result, if you do not arrest the Mastermind during this plot, it will repeat infinitely until you do! The Mission Set will not end until the Mastermind is captured.
